'Strings of Yā Sīn’.
Inspired by the words, 'And To Him Are You Returned' (وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ) Qur’an 36:83, taken from the Holy Qur'an's chapter Yā Sīn and ingeniously complemented by the rotational movement of the composition as well as by the beautiful flow of master calligrapher Seyit Ahmet Depeler’s Diwani scripted calligraphy.
Hand crafted by the use of filography (string art) with coloured copper wires gently held between nails driven into a base board surfaced with velvet forming the extraordinarily complex composition as seen here.

Hand wound copper based wires (diameter: 0.3mm) wound around each 1mm wide nail meticulously driven into a base board surface with velvet.
Calligraphic (Diwani script) composition by one of Konya’s master calligraphers, Seyit Ahmet Depeler.

Elona Hoş
Albanian born Elona Hoş has been producing extraordinary works of filography for over a decade. Driving nails and stretching the wire between the splendor of Arabic calligraphy onto leather and velvet canvas through copper wire, using calligraphic works from various artists and bringing them until the last shape has been a part of her life for all these years.
In 2014, a turning point occurred for Elona when she discovered a derelict mosque in Iskeçe, Greece which was planned for restoration works. Elona was commissioned to do the interior string art work at the mosque and completed the project within 2 months.
A number of awards and exhibitions have been held by Elona for example Ulinoha Association 2006, pride of string art performance award, SAW ARNAOUT INTERNATIONAL for Culture and Arts, Beit el FannIslamic Art String Art - Tripoli - Lebanon, Ottoman Art and Islamic Art String in Beirut, Lebanon.
Elona continues to practise filography at her studio in the historic city of Edirne, Turkey.
