‘Brotherhood’.
Inspired by the tenth verse of the Holy Qur’an chapter, ‘Al-Ḥujurāt’ (‘O Believers’) [49:10].
إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
Translation: The believers are but brothers; so make peace between your brethren, and reverence God, that haply you may receive mercy.
Transliteration: Innamā l-mu'minūna ikh'watun fa-aṣliḥū bayna akhawaykum wa-ittaqū l-laha laʿallakum tur'ḥamūn.

Shahryanshah & Fatma Ulusoy Sirajuddin
Shahryanshah Sirajuddin (b.1986) was born in Sangkulirang, Indonesia. He graduated in Islamic Law of Al-Azhar University-Egypt in 2009 and received his ijaza (license) for Rik’a, Diwani and Diwani scipts from Sheikh Belaid Hamidi in Egypt.
Upon recommendation of his master he came to Turkey in 2010 to practise calligraphy further. He practised Thuluth and Naskh under the guidance of a number of masters such as Hasan Çelebi, Ferhat Kurlu and Mümtaz Seçkin Durdu leading him to receiving his ijaza organised by iRCiCA (Research Center for islamic History, Art and Culture). He also received calligraphy lessons from various masters in Istanbul including Şavaş Çevik, Ali Toy, Davut Bektaş, Mehmed Özçay and Osman Özçay.
Shahryanshah continues to produce magnificent works of calligraphy and also undertaking a Magister program in Fine Arts Department at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University.
Fatma Ulusoy Sirajuddin was born in Istanbul (b.1988) and graduated from European Islamic University Faculty of Islamic Sciences in 2012 and graduated from Anadolu University Open Education Faculty of Theology in 2016. Fatma continued her education with her husband Shahryanshah in Riq’ah and Divani scripts until 2015 to later focus on illumination with Ayşe Gülcan Özbalak.
Both husband and wife continue to produce magnificent works of illuminated and calligraphy works in Istanbul.
