Inspired by the Shah Jahan Mosque located in Woking, England which is the first purpose-built mosque in the United Kingdom and was built in 1889. The Grade 1 listed building is located 30 miles (50 km) southwest of London.

Physical Description
Hand drawn and painted onto set scale using miniature and water colour painting techniques and applied with Iranian kitten and Finnish squirrel hair paint brushes.
Handmade watercolour using natural pigments (Persian berries, Malachite & Lapis lazuli) and ink on hemp paper. Main door entrance consists of 23k shell-gold and 22k gold leaf for the domes.

Zeynep Iqbal
Zeynep Iqbal’s work focusses on traditional arts and architecture in the modern context. She is an architect and artist of Turkish heritage with portfolios include mosques, cultural centres and various historic buildings.
Zeynep is a graduate of Architecture from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria. She then pursued architectural practice in Berlin and Istanbul before co-founding her own architectural studio, IK Architecture Group.
In 2016, she enrolled onto a master’s degree at the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in London, with focus on hand drawings and painting techniques. She was awarded a Distinction for her project as well as the Kairos Prize, presented by Prince of Wales.
In 2018, Zeynep gained further recognition in 2018 when she was awarded the INTBAU Excellence Award in the Emerging Talent category for her design of a Turkish Cultural Centre in London, presented at the INTBAU World Congress. The 2018 Awards attracted 83 submissions from 23 countries, including Albania, Australia, Czech Republic, Guatemala, India, Nicaragua, Pakistan and USA.

Zeynep currently resides in Liverpool with her husband and son and continues to work on both private commissions and architectural designs.
