Mariam López Rejón
Mariam López Rejón is a multifaceted artist who specialises in ceramics for the past eight years. Born in Granada and to artist parents, she has always been involved in an atmosphere of artistic creation.
Since she was little she always had a very close relationship with Nasrid palaces and when she finished her studies in artistic ceramics her greatest desire was to bring this wonderful monument to the people who visited her collection of small pieces of Alhambra.
One of her recent works is the Alhambra Chic collection, which brings together a legendary tradition with modern techniques and materials. The contemporary tableware highlights the beautiful imperfection of the handmade.
Each piece is hand-molded and geometric compositions are applied to the clay individually, with various pressure molds made by hand. Enamel is applied by hand filling each feature creating infinite looking motifs and compositions.
Currently the artist resides in Barcelona where she conducts Blowawish workshops in the heart of Sant Cugat.
